MyBioSource.com's KCNN2 Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody. This antibody has been shown to work in applications such as: EIA, Immunoassay, and ELISA. The KCNN2 Antibody was generated using KCNN2 as the antigen and it reacts with Human, Mouse, and Rat.

Description

Function: Forms a voltage-independent potassium channel activated by intracellular calcium. Activation is followed by membrane hyperpolarization. Thought to regulate neuronal excitability by contributing to the slow component of synaptic afterhyperpolarization. The channel is blocked by apamin.

Subcellular Location: Membrane>Multi-pass membrane protein.

Tissue Specificity: Expressed in atrial myocytes (at protein level). Widely expressed.

Subunit Structure: Heterooligomer. The complex is composed of 4 channel subunits each of which binds to a calmodulin subunit which regulates the channel activity through calcium-binding (By similarity).

Similarity: Belongs to the potassium channel KCNN family. KCa2.2/KCNN2 subfamily
